One of the many, many cool things about KDE Konqueror, one of the world wide web browsers native to Linux, is that it allows you to browse your digital camera as though it was any other mounted file system.

If you are using the KDE environment, simply open up a shell and type

"gphoto2 --list-cameras"

without the " and hit Enter.

This command will generate a list of cameras compatible with your flavor of Linux, and if your camera is listed, all you need to do to browse it from Konqueror is to type "camera:/" and hit Enter and you are in. You can drag-and-drop or delete or whatever you need to do, all without installing the camera's manufacturer's CD-ROM they so kindly included. Cool.
