Prison. In recent years the suburb has developed a number of retail businesses including a number of
cafe style shops. Main shopping streets are Macaulay Road, and Bellair Streets.

Africa migrants are a significant portion of the community. A newly developed part of Kensington is Kensington Banks - created in cooperation between State Government, City of Melbourne, and a range of different building companies - at least one of which was ruined by the introduction of the
