Magic Mountain is a theme park located in Valencia, California, about 20 minutes north of Los Angeles. The park is renowned for having some of the best roller coasters in the world, including the tallest looping roller coaster (Viper), and the tallest stand-up coaster (Riddler's Revenge).

The park originally opened in 1971 as part of the planned community of Valencia. In 1978, it was sold to Six Flags, who invested gobs of money into the park so that it could compete against the likes of Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. In 1998, it was bought by theme park juggernaut Premier Parks, and has gone to shit ever since. The average park visitor won't notice, but just ask any employee.
