Eternity was in our lips and eyes
But I found it in between your hips and thighs
That no-man's-land where feckless fear to tread
And countless come, and die, and leave not dead

Like Orpheus, necronaut of the abyss,
I took the plunge and then returned with this:
As trembling as a leaf upon the wind,
Your ecstasy, like Echo's sighing twin...

Then, breathing heavy, full of blushing hue,
You sat up and said, "Okay, now let's do you."
