Manowar is a heavy metal band. Their ongoing mission is to champion the cause of "true metal", and are one of the world's most impressive live acts. They are the world's loudest band, having been measured at ~130dB.
Formed when bassist Joey DeMaio met former Dictators guitarist Ross The Boss backstage at a Black Sabbath gig in Newcastle. Joey was a bass tech for Sabbath, and Ross was in Sabbath's support band, Shakin' Street. Joined by Eric Adams (vocals) and Scott Columbus(drums)
