100% pure distilled
liquor of
Okinawa.
Awamori is distinctly different from typical Japanese sake and
shochu and is made from
rice from
Thailand and
native yeast from
Okinawa.
Awamori is very strong and is usually diluted with plain water or served on the rocks. Because of its purity, it is well known not to cause hangovers if drank moderately.
November 1st is awamori day in Okinawa prefecture. Also, every year there is a contest to decide the Awamori Queen. The Awamori Queen promotes awamori and Okinawa throughout Japan.
