Eleventy-One
Eleventy-One,
111 or One hundred and eleven as it is more commonly (and more boringly) known is a number created by J. R. R. Tolkien in
The Lord of the Rings. 111 is also known as one-eleven, as in the
European Unions reciprocial health care agreement, the
E111. This has nothing at all to do with the
reciprocal of 111, which is
1/
111, or
. .
0.009
Of course, to really
confuse people, write it as 111
-1, since most people don't know that x
-1 means the reciprocal of x.
Interesting Maths (a contradiction in terms)
111/111 11/11 1/1 is 1 1 1 is eleventy one
Eleventy One has eleven letters.
111
2 is 12321.
111 - 42 is a sex act.
111 is not prime: 37 x 3 = 111
The devils number has 111 as a
factor
111 x 910 gives 101010 : the
binary for 42
111 is approximately equal to 42 (an error of only 62.1% - good for a
physics experiment)
111 has a nice binary representation: 1101111. As does 42 (101010). If 42 is uncertain (yes, no, yes, no, yes, no) then 111 is almost certain (well...
6/
7 of the time!)
