Akumajou Dracula is an excellent installment of
Konami's
Castlevania series for the
Sharp X68000 computer. Debuted in
1993, the visuals and sound surpass many of the other early games in this
classic series. It is in many ways similar to
Castlevania I for the
NES (some of the levels are quite similar), however the
difficulty is much greater.
Two neat features not often found in other
Castlevania games are a
sound test (there was one in
Dracula X for the
SNES) and a save feature.
There are rumors recently that
Konami may be bringing this game to the
Playstation which would be incredible for Castlevania
fanatics, as it is quite a rarity to find, even on import channels.
