There are two urinals, side by side, in the bathroom in my office. Whenever I stand at one of them and pee while another guy is at the other urinal, no matter which male coworker of mine it is, I notice that he does a little spitting into his urinal.

I've noticed this occasionally in public restrooms outside of work, too. I've never had the urge to do it myself. Am I weird for this? (I already know I'm weird for noticing the phenomenon and writing it up!)

Is this a common behavior that my father neglected to teach me? Or perhaps I have a physiological problem that fails to trigger an urge to spit as a natural reaction to urinating. Perhaps I should get a tickle in the back of my throat, as an inverted instance of the physiological connection involved when the doctor asks you to turn your head and cough. And therefore the absence of a tickle in the back of my throat when I pee is a bad thing?

It also occurred to me that spitting might be a gag-like reaction of others due to the fact that my urine smells like coffee.
