Greek word, which can roughly be
translated as '
pumpkinification', or the
process of undergoing
metamorphosis into a pumpkin.
Also, the title of a Latin satire by Lucius Annaeus Seneca, the younger, about the death of the emperor Claudius, and his transformation into a pumpkin instead of a god and constellation by divine accident. It is a mixture of prose and poetry, and contains heavy political as well as literary satire, mocking even the author.
The work is a riot; the best part is the death of Claudius, who on his death bed cries out: 'vae me, puto, concacavi me'. Roughly translated: 'dear me, I believe I've shat myself'.
