The first anachronism of the 80s decade.

During the explosion of videotaped movies and the VCR many businesses entered the movie rental market. Most of them made a habit of placing a small sticker on the tape or tape box, advising (pleading, actually) the renter to rewind the tape at the end of viewing. The sticker was an attempt to save rental store staff from having to spend hours of their day rewinding said tapes.

From 2002 and forward, DVD rentals are taking up a larger and larger share of the rental market and soon most of us will unable to go a local store and rent a VCR tape. When that happens these signs and stickers will be history.
