The 1999 Limited
Vineyard Selection (LVS) Zinfandel/Chardonnay
Personaly, I enjoy the blush wines the most, and living in Northern California, its not hard to find them (even the kwiky mart has a very limited wine selection). This wine is the one that I have found to be the best.
Many people find the white zinfandel to be too sweet and not enough body to it. This is certainly not the case with the LVS white zinfandel. It is an 80% white zinfandel, with 20% chardonnay mixed in. While most of the classic white zinfandel flavor, rich in strawberry, is there - the chardonnay complements it with the more traditional dry oak flavor.
When I brought this wine back to my family for the holidays, it was well received. It was by far the bottle that finished first, and complemented by both those with more than casual wine knowledge and those who drank wine maybe twice a year if that.
If you are ever fortunate enough to find a bottle, buy it and bring it home and give it a try.
