CMY is short for
cyan,
magenta and
yellow(the compliments of
red,
green and
blue.) It is a
color model similar to
RGB but reversed.
Cyan,
magenta and
yellow are
subtractive primaries. In
RGB, you specify how much
red,
green and
blue you want to add to
black. In CMY, you specify how much
cyan,
magenta and
yellow you want to subtract from
white. It is mostly used with
inkjet printers. Here's the quick way for converting
RGB to CMY:
