A bitter
spirit with very strong taste. Over forty herbs is used to produce it. Among these are:
myrrh,
rhubarb,
chamomile,
cardamom and
saffron. Otherwise the formula is a
secret and was introduced by a
Milanese woman by the name of
Maria Scala in
1845.
It is definately an acquired taste, either you hate it or you love it.
