Short-lived progressive rock supergroup that published only one album in 1986 before breaking up.

GTR was the union of Yes guitarist Steve Howe and Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, supported by vocalist Max Bacon, drummer Jonathon Mover and bassist Phil Spalding. The only song they produced on their eponymous album which could be considered close to a hit was "When the Heart Rules the Mind", which reached number 14 on American charts. (Awards for best-named song go to "Hackett to Bits".)

Soon after the band was formed, Hackett left to pursue a solo career and GTR--already largely a disappointment in the eyes of most fans of the Steves--was no more.
