H.I.T. stands for Helsinki Institute of Technology which is a part of the Helsinki Polytechnic, an institution of higher education owned by the City of Helsinki, Finland. The Institute was founded in 1881. Study programmes include Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering and Laboratory Sciences. The 4-year Bachelor of Science engineering programme comprises 160 credit units (240 ECTS cu) and the Bachelor of Science programme in laboratory sciences 140 credits (210 ECTS cu).
