Ignatz is the mouse in the comic strip Krazy Kat. Krazy, a kat of indeterminate gender, is madly in love with Ignatz, who shuns Krazy's advances by heaving bricks at Krazy. Ignatz is in turn placed in jail by Offissa Pupp, who is in love with the oblivious Krazy.
