Køge is a city in eastern Sjælland (Zealand), Denmark, lying 42km south of the capital, Copenhagen.
In the middle ages it was an important trading post for both members of the Hanseatic League and also the Baltic/Scandinavian nation-states.
It retains a number of historic buildings, and is easily reachable from Copenhagen. At the end of E-line, it is the the southern-most point of Copenhagen's S-train network. Trains run three times per hour, taking 38 minutes to make the journey.
