The Konami standard was a wiring harness used in a lot of older arcade games. You can take any arcade PCB that uses the Konami standard and plug it into any cabinet wired for the Konami standard and it will work. This means you can get more than one game in a single cabinet, and that you can switch between different games in minutes.

The biggest advantage about wiring a cabinet for this standard is that the games are often fairly cheap. The most common arcade standard is the JAMMA standard (used by over 1000 different games), and even newbie arcade collectors are aware of it. Ebay sellers often advertise the fact that their game boards are "JAMMA compatible". But the Konami standard is more obscure, plenty of people are not even aware of it. You can use that to your advantage by picking up Konami compatible boards fairly cheaply.

Here is what the harness looks like. If you don't have one (and are uncomfortable making your own), then look for a "Frogger Wiring Harness", it is the same thing.
