MITDACS is (was) the MIT Defense and Arms Control Studies program. Although the program has since changed its name to the much more wishy-washy Strategic Studies Program, us oldster grad students still affectionately refer to it by its Cold War moniker.

Housed in MIT building E38, at 292 Main Street in Cambridge, MA (in case you're targeting something), the DACS program occupies parts of two floors. It is a degree-granting program in conjunction with the Political Science department; you can pursue a PoliSci Ph.D with a concentration in DACS.

Although MIT is not a strong Liberal Arts school (duh) the DACS program managed to attract many high-power analysts and theorists to its ranks, both because of its affiliation with the scientific and engineering resources of MIT and because of Cold War defense funding.
