Monitor tan is the only tan distinctly noticable by its lack of color. Especially prevalent on programmers, and other people who spend wayy too much time in front of their computers, eyes fixed on their CRTs. People exibiting this common enhancement are often pale and unable to bear intense sunlight. They burn easily in the wake of real UV rays.
Monitor tan has the advantage of the relular tan because of the consistant pastey white texture of the skin. No lines or uneven areas. No place where you did not hold your arms up to the monitor evenly enough. Its free, and oftentimes comes with whatever coding project you are on. Worn by geeks everywhere. Look for it on the person with long sleeves, long hair, and that unshaven look.
