Accronym of Общественное Российское Телевидение (Public Russian Television) - ОРТ (ORT). ORT was launched in 1995. The Creator of TV Channel was Vladislav Listyev. ORT changed its name in 2002. The new name of the TV channel is Perviy kanal (First Channel). Channel One is one of the most famous Russian TV Channels. Other channels are: Rossiya-1 and NTV Russia.
From 1999 to 2002 the channel had an international version. The channel was called ОРТ-Международное (ORT-International).
