PCN (Personal Communication Network) is also known as GSM 1800. It uses the radio frequency of 1800 MHz as compared to the original GSM using frequency of 900 MHz.

It gives higher call quality than GSM 900, but half the number of calls per transmitter.

Commonly used medical charting abbreviation for penicillin.

PCN is also the acronym for the Partido Comunista Nicaraguense ( Nicaraguan Communist Party.) Even during the period 1979-1990, when the "quasi-socialist" FSLN ( Frente Sandinista Liberacion Nacional] (Sandinist National Liberation Front)) was in power in Nicaragua, the PCN was mostly a marginal political party, as they remain today.
