PPV (pay-per-view) is mainly used for sports events, though in some countries you can also see movies (very new ones or,
porn) via pay-per-view.
One example is the german pay tv provider Premiere World. They show sports events (wrestling and soccer), movies and porn via PPV. As pay tv, not to mention PPV, is not very accepted in Germany, there are very few PPV events. Most American wrestling and boxing PPVs are shown in normal pay tv in Germany, without further payments.
