In
Boxing, it's difficult to answer the question, "Who is currently the greatest
Boxer on Earth?" Or, that ever lived, etc. Anyone who's kept up with
boxing knows that the belts don't really mean that much. Another way to look at it is "Who is the best boxer,
pound for pound?" This takes into consideration the size of the boxer. Sure someone like
Lennox Lewis could probably cream
Shane Mosley into the ground, but they're more than 50 lbs apart. If Mosley was the same size as Lewis,
what then? Well, most people think it would be Mosley then. In general, this is one of the best ways to get a list of really good boxers that are worth watching (because you're gonna' have to
pay to
see them).
This is my current top 20 Pound for Pound:
- Roy Jones, Jr.
- Bernard Hopkins
- Vernon Forrest
- Marco Antonio Barrera
- Oscar De La Hoya
- Kostya Tzyu
- Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
- Eric Morales
- Tim Austin
- Acelino Freitas
- "Sugar" Shane Mosley
- Fernando Vargas
- Lennox Lewis
- Jose Luis Castillo
- Wladimir Klitschko
- Zab Judah
- Eric Morel
- Ronald "Winky" Wright
- Joel Casamayor
- Antonio Tarver
