The 10th letter in the Arabic alphabet. Pronounced like an r.

The shorthand "RE:", though almost universally associated with English words such as "regarding ", "referring" and "response", actually comes from the Latin in re, approximately meaning "in this matter."

It's supposed to be pronounced RAY. Who would have guessed?
