Reptilian

1. To be like (or of) the animal species known as reptiles. Examples: snake skin boots, cold blooded humans, anything that slithers 2. A part of the human brain stem. It is a remnant of the prehistoric past. The reptilian brain acts on stimulus and response. It is responsible for quick decisions without conscious thought. The reptilian brain is focused on survival and propigation. It takes control when one is danger without time to think.

Reptilian age Geol., that part of geological time comprising the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, and distinguished as that era in which the class of reptiles attained its highest expansion; -- called also the Secondary or Mezozoic age.
