Actress born in 1967 in London, the eldest of five sisters, named after the Beatles song 'Sexy Sadie'. She started broadcast work early, starring in a Jelly Tots commercial at the age of three and appearing with Morecambe and Wise at the age of 5. She retired at 13 to go to school, and went back to repertory theatre at 19.

After some success in theatre and small films, she struck lucky in 1990 with a part in The Krays starring her husband of the time and old schoolmate Gary Kemp, ex-member of 80s pop band Spandau Ballet. In 1992 she starred as Lucy in Bram Stoker's Dracula, for which she is probably best known. Later she had the lead female role in Shopping(1994), where she met Jude Law, her current husband.

Since then she has starred in several not-particularly-notable films, including the two disastrous efforts from Natural Nylon, the production company she co-owns with Jude, Ewan McGregor, Sean Pertwee and Jonny Lee Miller. She has two sons, one from her first marriage. She's currently running a fashion label called Frost French, and about to have her third child.
