The second track on Daydream Nation, Silver Rocket displays a strong punkish feel with a reasonably quick tempo and short punchy riffs. Over the instrumentation the vocals are sharply spat out in quick succession with the choruses being the only parts that are easily understood. After the second chorus the song shifts abruptly into a squall of noise through which the original guitar line is barely heard until returning shortly before the beginning of the third stanza.
