Shine like a sun, shine like a beacon -
for however long till you flare on out.
A burning heart on a barren cliffside -
that flickering light, that phantom, become a dream.

Soul gone weary with the steering years -
point true north with all your tools and maps.
Call out to starboard in the drowning deeps -
the rocks and icebergs like darkness creep.

But burn on, take on fuel, and course to keep -
the march of knots and nights and years.
Age keeps time and the fathoms are sweet -
Neither go too swiftly or from nothing flee.

The sea shall one day give up her dead -
but you're the lighthouse. Cast your gleam.
