In theory and Science Fiction, starports are the place where starships launch for their interstellar journeys. Starports are unlike spaceports where only spaceships incapable of interstellar travel launch into space.

There are two sorts of starports, Highport and Downport. Highports are space stations which handle mostly transit traffic and unstreamlined starships unable to enter the planetary atmosphere or gravity field. Downports are Dirtside, meaning on the ground. They handle cargoes bound for the world, as well as passenger traffic. Some highports are connected to the relevant downport by the way of a space elevator.

Earth/Terra today has no starport, although it has several spaceports, the most famous of which being in Florida, Cape Canaveral. The European Union, Russia and China also have one spaceport each.
