The Random Word Game (known to some as purple monkey dishwasher) is a multiplayer word game almost exactly opposite from the game word association.
Whereas in a game of word association, the object is to make a connection between words, the random word game seeks to concatenate words that have as little connection as possible.
The game is played as follows:
Two or more people assemble in some formation and one begins by saying a word. The next person must quickly respond with another word that can not be reasonably associated with the previous word.
A player is out when he cannot say a word in time, says more than one word, repeats a word that has already been said (typically this includes words that are the same as one that has been already said but with an added prefix or suffix or a change of tense), he says a word that is not allowed (usually any proper noun), or if a player can make a reasonable association between a player's word and the previous one.
