Multi-grammy award-winning Soul/R&B artist who has had many gold and platinum songs, including "Breathe Again" and "Un-Break My Heart".

Toni Braxton was born October 7, 1968, in Maryland and grew up singing with her sisters and winning talent contests. Her father was a minister, and had forbid Toni to listen to popular music. Toni's mother was a vocalist and had put Toni in the church choir, where her talent was first discovered.

While attending Bowie State University for a degree in teaching, Toni continued her musical talent by taking singing classes. She and her sisters formed a group called the "Braxtons" and were signed by Arista, after hearing their song "The Good Life". This song had mediocre sales, but it got attention from LaFace records, who signed Toni to their label in 1991. Since then, Toni has reached diva status quickly, having arrived on the radio in 1993.
