Trenton Thunder are a
Class AA minor league baseball team in
Trenton, NJ. They are one of twelve teams in the
Eastern League, and their
major
league affiliate are the
Boston Red Sox.
Veteran pitcher Bret Saberhagen recently (15 July 2001)
made an appearance for
Thunder roster, returning from injury.
Other Thunder alumni of note include
Nomar Garciaparra (BoSox),
Kevin Foster (Texas Rangers),
Shea Hillenbrand (BoSox),
and Trot Nixon (BoSox).
The Thunder play out of newly constructed (1994)
Samuel J. Plumeri Field at
Mercer County Waterfront Park. Their emblem is a
big T in the background with two cool-looking blue birds
vomiting lighting bolts in the foreground.
