Vestas is one of the worlds largest (if not the largest) manufacturer of
windmills. It was founded in 1945 and the word Vestas stood for
VEstjysk STålteknik A/S ( vest-juttish steel technic ltd. ).
But is was not until 1978 that Vestas began to manufactur
windmills, because of the
oil crisis at that time.
Today Vestas occupies 4.400 people around the world and their market share is 23,4%.
