Zappafrank is an asteroid/minor planet in an elliptical orbit of between 193 and 282 million miles diameter and 4.08 years duration around the sun with a minor planet number of 3834. It was discovered on May 11 1980 by L. Brozek, a Czech scientist, and named after Frank Zappa in 1994.

Apparently Frank Zappa was something of an icon in Czechoslovakia, and hundreds of letters of support were sent to the International Astronomical Union when the name was suggested. Even the Czech President of the time gave his approval, if not his official endorsement.
