Anmitsu (餡蜜) is a delicious Japanese dessert whose
primary ingredients are anko (red bean paste) and various types
of mitsu (syrup). The syrups are gelled into little multicolored
translucent cubes with agar-agar and then a big dollop of bean
paste is added on top. More often than not, some fruit (canned or fresh)
and/or some ice cream is thrown into the mix, resulting in
a calorie-laden but chopstick-lickin' good dish. Just noding
this makes me hungry...
Mitsumame is the same thing with whole beans instead of bean paste.
