I just love to read! I mostly do good sci-fi, but will read anything that will catch my attention.
Books I've read that I consider worthy of mentioning here:
- By Arthur C. Clarke:
- By William Gibson:
- By Chuck Palahniuk:
- By August Wilson:
- "Fences"
I also enjoy music. Since my tastes are always changing, and have no concrete description, here is a list of artists I enjoy, in no particular order. Make of it what you will:
- LTJ Bukem - He takes Drum and Bass to a new level. I enjoy 99% of his material, which takes him to the top of this list.
- The Future Sound Of London - They have some decent ambient material, and I love the fact that they sample so much. I have a fetish for samples from obscure movies sampled in with good ambient soundscapes :).
- BT (a.k.a. Brian Transeau - Note that I mostly only really enjoy his older dream-house material-- IMA, ESCM, etc. Some of the newer stuff is too poppish for my tastes.
- Paul Oakenfold - Only his live mixes, I do not really enjoy most of his produced material.
- Bassic (a.k.a. Martin Lindhe)
- KANNO Yoko (some favorites are the Wolf's Rain and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex OSTs)
- Cliff Martinez (The Solaris soundtrack is beyond words when played on a good sound system)
- Aphex Twin - Haven't heard a lot of his stuff, but I like what I hear so far, and plan to get more.
- DJ Krush - Thick, phat downtempo. Thick like chocolate cake. And I love chocolate cake.
- Vangelis - I am a bit selective on this artist's work-- only a few tracks really are to my taste. Rachel's Song has been one of my favorites for a while.
- Rahzel - Simply amazing
- DJ Sasha - His breakbeat and ambient work really works for me. See: Airdrawndagger. Favorite song: Bloodlock
- DJ Tiësto - Quite possible one of the top faces in the Trance genre.
- Armin van Buuren - See above.
- Hooverphonic
- Massive Attack - Pioneers of downtempo, in my opinion.
- The Smashing Pumpkins - They are one of my favorites, and are one of a handful of groups who create rock music I will actually listen to.
- Rammstein - A bit repetetive, but they have energetic songs, and are great when you want to amplify your anger. A favorite song is Engel.
- Junkie XL - A very talented producer.
- All of the unnamed faces that reside in my mind as sounds only, without names.
- More will be added as it comes to mind.
