A special passport that is given to diplomats and others with similar occupation who regularly travel or live abroad. It does not grant its bearer any immunity or special privileges. It only shows that the bearer may be a diplomat. In order to receive benefits such as diplomatic immunity or special privileges, the bearer must usually be registered to and accepted by the Foreign Ministry of the country in question.
