A term from the game of Go (Wei Qi/Badouk). A move is called sente if it starts a sequence of moves that will end on the other player's turn, allowing the player who started it to choose where to play next (see sente node for a more detailed explanation). A move is double-sente if it is sente for you, and also prevents your opponent from playing a move which would be sente for him. In other words, it is a move than is sente for whoever plays it first. Double-sente moves are generally the most important moves on the board, to be made as soon as possible. Especially in yose (endgame), a player should analyze moves to see if they are double-sente, sente, reverse-sente or gote, and play moves in that order.
