A five-number summary of data is a concept that is commonly used in statistics. It consists of the first quartile (Q1), the median, the third quartile (Q3), and the largest and smallest number of the data. The five-number summary is written in smallest to largest form. It is written in the following format:

Smallest #, First Quartile, Median, Third Quartile, Largest #

Using the numbers 1-15 as our data, the five-number summary would look like the following:

1     4     8     12     15
