police proclaim their non-suspicion of the
congressman. Shortly after this
proclamation, Mr. Condit's attorney said that the police had not asked to search his apartment or subpoenaed him for anything.
However, once Mr. Condit admitted to an affair with missing intern Chandra Levy (19 years younger) after lying about it publicly (ala Bill Clinton), everything Mr. Condit says is now called into question.
Unlike the Lewinsky affair, the accusations against Mr. Condit were taken more seriously because they involved the fate of a missing young woman.
Eventually, Chandra's remains were found in Maryland. Unfortunately, they were out in the elements for so long that it will probably be impossible to get any useful forensic evidence from them.
