There's no explaining what people do

One night you're sitting on the porch,
drinking long necks and making plans for the long weekend
The next morning he's nowhere to be found

He just got busy and forgot, or something.
I ain't going any where
He kissed me for a year and a half,
I swore I'd never leave.

It's only been a month and seven days.
And seven hours.
47 minutes,
give or take.

My landlord was at the door again.
The neighbors have been complaining of the smell.
The closets are almost full,
black flies are everywhere.

All good things come to those who wait, is what they say.
He just got busy and forgot, or something.
He kissed me for a year and a half

I swore he'd never leave.
