For the past 5 years, people have asked me why I'm
gay. I used to do a lot of reading on the
nature vs. nurture debate, and
ponder it, and think about how it applied to my own
life.
Then, the answer became clear. It doesn't matter. It's an interesting biological/psychological problem. In an abstract way, I'd like to know why I prefer men to women, but it doesn't matter. I like men. This isn't going to change. Agonizing over the whys serves no purpose.
The most difficult task we have is to first find out who we are, and then accept who we are. I've worked hard enough at accepting things that I'm not going to worry about causes.
