A french term for the binding ingredient in any sauce, such as flour, butter, egg yolk, etc.

This is a very general word, which grossly means "linking". Be careful when you use it. Depending on the context, it can mean anything from a connection ("une liaison telephonique") to an extra-marital affair. You might want to avoid dangerous confusions.

A union, or bond of union; an intimacy; especially, an illicit intimacy between a man and a woman.
