Mitsu (蜜) is a traditional Japanese syrup, which consists
almost entirely of liquid dark sugar, but in a much more runny form than molasses. It is used as a ingredient
of several Japanese desserts
like anmitsu and warabimochi.
Hachimitsu (蜂蜜), "bee syrup", is how the Japanese refer to
honey.
Outside Japan, mitsu is also a slang term for Ecstasy
tablets imprinted with the triple-diamond logo of Mitsubishi.
