(French, from a Bantu language; also known variously as Gaboon in the U.K., Angouma, Moukoumi, or N'Koumi)

The wood of the African tree Aucoumea klaineana (in the Burseraceae family), which grows to heights of up to 60 m in the tropical rainforest in Gabon, Rio Muni and Congo-Brazzaville. The wood is pink in colour and light. It is one of the most useful woods for the manufacture of plywood.
