that
ever-so-
unpleasant substance that forms between your
foot and any
open shoes you are wearing, if you happen to
unexpectedly be caught in a sudden,
light rain. a
phenomenon found mostly in
birkenstocks,
flip-flops, and
sandals, it reminds one of the
downsides of the open shoes that are otherwise SO
comfortable.
pavement backwash forms when the little grains and bits of sand and dirt that normally enter the shoe but just fall out again, get *wet*. and not sopping wet in pouring rain, that washes the grit right back out. rather, JUST wet enough to stick to the bottom of your foot and be uncomfortable. and of course they wear against your foot, wearing off some of the dead skin there, which also gets wet and adds to the damp conglomeration in your shoes. by no means a pleasant thing.
