The spriz is a cocktail that can be found in every bar in north-east Italy; it's also called spritz by somebody, and even spriss by somebody else, usually when they are drunk.

The recipe varies slightly from town to town; if a connoisseur happens to get lost in the thick fogs of the Padania plain, he can get his approximate position by ordering a spriz in the nearest bar.

It's quite easy to make:

The first two ingredients are essentially written in stone, even if proportions vary slightly; the third changes from place to place (some use gin) keeping in mind that the end result should be a shade of red.

The alcohol content varies between 12% and 45%, but the average is 15%.
