Staff of killeverything

An item, agent or event in a game that kills everything. Usually found in a LARP or collectible trading card game, but also embodied in first-person shooters as well as many other games. For example:

• The BFG9000 from DooM

• The Chaos Orb From some MTG variant or another

• The little flashy star from Super Mario Brothers

• Quad rockets with the Pentagram of Protection in Quake

I can't think of a good LARP example off the top of my head, but I can recall more than once hearing a DM, grown tired and bored after 18 consecutive hours of gaming, say something like, " -- Hey guys, did you know that there's no saving throw against THE EARTH FALLING INTO THE SUN? Wouldn't THAT just be the funniest thing . . ."

And the game would mysteriously disperse.
